Comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and actress Portia de Rossi have been together for more than ten years after they fell in love backstage at an awards show. In 2008, they tied the knot at an elegant wedding ceremony in their Los Angeles home. They sat cross-legged facing each other to say their vows, Portia wearing a fairytale tulle dress and Ellen in chic white trousers and blouse. The ceremony had a traditional, romantic atmosphere with masses of pink and white roses, soft candle light and white drapes and tablecloths.

Lance Bass & Michael Turchin
Actor and *NSYNC singer Lance Bass and artist Michael Turchin dated for a year and a half before they married in the exclusive Park Plaza Hotel in LA in December 2014. Both wore dapper black suits and smiled lovingly at each other for wedding photos. The reception was a lively and stylish affair with a royal color palette and a lavish buffet dinner. Lance said that the most touching part of his special day was able to share it with friends and family. His parents are from the deep South, and he is proud they are able to accept and celebrate his love for Michael.

Legendary rocker Elton John married his partner David Furnish, who he has been with since 1993, in his signature flamboyant style. They held their wedding soon after the law allowing same-sex marriages in the UK was passed and on the nine year anniversary of their civil union. The star-studded ceremony was attended by many of the couple’s famous friends, including David and Victoria Beckham, Liz Hurley and Ed Sheeran. Held on December 21st, the wedding had a Christmas theme with rich red and green accents and cosy touches such as the roaring fireplace in their Windsor home. The couple had an Instagram feed of the wedding photos with the #sharethelove hashtag to advocate LGBT marriage.

Actor, producer and comedian Neil Patrick Harris and actor and Chef David Burtka have been dating since David made an appearance on Neil’s show, “How I Met Your Mother” in 2007. They have two children together and were married in Italy in 2014. The ceremony and reception were lively and exciting. Elton John performed some of their favorite songs and a professional pyrotechnics operator put on a stunning fireworks show during their first dance, which was to Kelly Clarkson’s “A Moment Like This”.

Television host Nate Berkus and his designer partner Jeremiah Brent had been dating for a year before they were engaged and were the first same sex couple to marry in the New York Public Library. The decoration at their wedding was grand and elegant, in keeping with the venue’s decor, but the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The couple’s flair for tasteful design shone through with the black and gold menu cards, gold vases filled with white roses and lush green foliage and the white, gem-cut dinnerware.
